The role

MurphySchmidt Solicitors is actively seeking an enthusiastic and professional Office Junior. We are offering an entry role with mentoring from experienced senior administrative staff and in-depth training to develop administrative and legal secretarial skills.

Key responsibilities

The full-time role will involve a range of administrative and office duties, with supervision and on-going training. Tasks will include:

  • general office duties such as photocopying, data entry, scanning, faxing, billing, answering/making telephone calls, etc.
  • preparing correspondence, confidential filing, archiving, brief preparation, diary management, archiving and other administrative duties.
  • reception cover.
  • preparing for staff events, client conferences and catering.
  • assisting with mail, banking, deliveries and pickups around the city as required.
  • stocktake and other ad-hoc duties.

The ideal candidate will have the following skills and experience:

  • completed Year 12 or high school equivalency;
  • intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, especially Outlook, Excel and Word;
  • highly organised with meticulous attention to detail, accuracy and efficiency;
  • strong multitasking and prioritisation skills, with the ability to adapt to a fast-paced, busy office environment;
  • capable of working under guidance while independently managing tasks;
  • friendly manner and strong communication skills;
  • willingness to learn;
  • commitment to service excellence that matches our own and pride in who you work for;
  • willingness to work in our Brisbane CBD office.
